Meet Becky Olson - St. Luke's Worship and Music Council Representative

Greetings St. Lukes,
 
I am Becky Olson the Council Representative for Worship /Music.
My husband Bob and I joined St. Lukes 45 years ago this coming November. We raised our two children here.

So, what brought us to St. Luke's? 
We live only two blocks from church and thought it would be nice to be a part of a neighborhood church.

We attended a worship service, filled out the "yellow card', and checked off that we would like a home visit with the Pastor. So, we scheduled a home visit and low and behold the Pastor didn't show up!! Needless to say, they felt horrible, we learned about grace. 

We grew to love the Pastoral staff and various Programs St. Lukes offered. But over time, beloved Pastors and Staff came and then moved on. We stayed because of all of you! 

St. Luke's provides many opportunities to become involved and I have taken advantage of those opportunities. When our kids were young, I taught Sunday school, volunteered Wednesday night and I belonged to Rachel Circle. Now I sing in the Senior Choir, participate as a Worship Assistant, Lector and Treat Host and Provider.

Under the umbrella of Worship/Music, we have Bells of Praise, Jubilee, St. Lukes Sr. Choir, Children's Choir, Asst. Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Greeters, Sound board, Video and camera and altar guild. 
 
It takes many volunteers working together to provide a worship service.
 
The Worship/Music Committee goal is to try and provide meaningful, inspiring, uplifting worship experiences.
