Property Repairs and Updates Four rooms are being cleared and prepped for asbestos abatement and updating. Much thanks to Marc Dunham for single-handedly clearing out Education Wing Rooms. The Youth are clearing the Children’s Ministry Room as the Lock-in Service Project on Wednesday night. If you have time to spare and willing to help out as needed, please contact the Church Office 952-881-5801 / [email protected] Building Automation Zone Heating and Cooling… St. Luke’s is divided into 7 parts. For cost savings we are able to heat or cool specific areas at specific times. Much thanks to the Building Automation Team that helped create the system. Much thanks to Mark Haglin, Marc Dunham, and Kim Fokken who have helped schedule the building usage. For the system to work best doors need to be closed so an area that is being heated or cooled can do so within the area it is designed to do. When doors are left open, the system can get fatigued and lowers its ability to do the job. With the recent high humidity it we were made more aware of the importance of keeping doors closed. Please help the system run smoothly by keeping doors closed, especially any outside door. The interior pressure can keep an outside door from closing tight, letting the outside air in and not securing entrance. What a gift our building is to provide the space to live out our mission,
St. Luke’s is a Welcoming and Growing Community of Faith, busy making Christ known to the world. Questions, comments, suggestions, concerns, corrections, and thanks welcome…

Philippians 4:8. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think on these things.”
Adult awareness and loving guidance can encourage our children/youth to handle the experiences and challenges in unchartered situations. St. Luke’s Council attended the Minneapolis Synod Took Kit. There are a variety of sessions to attend. As a Council we try to have a member attend each one. Jan Pankratz, Secretary attended the “Online Sextortion Targeting Youth – What Is It and How Can We Prevent It?” It was presented by Joy McElroy. Teens, parents, grandparents, and those entrusted to care for youth need to recognize the risk with social media. We frequently make comments about social media, but we need to recognize how frequently these interactions happen. Youth especially teenagers in the 14–17-year (boys more than girls) are being targeted for exploitation. Last year over 27,000 reports were made to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children with 350 reported suicides. Below are things to be aware of and how you can respond.
St. Luke’s has a Protection and Safety Handbook, that is a part of our Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults Training. We require all volunteers working with these groups to attend the training and have a background check that is provided by our insurance carrier, Church Mutual. If you are interested in being a part of these ministries, please contact the Church Office: 952-881-5801 or [email protected] Join us for an exciting week of VBS June 23rd - 26th from 9:00 AM to Noon
for 3 years old through 5th grade. It is June, and to church workers everywhere, it can mean only one thing…VBS! (Okay, some churches wait until August!) This is my first time doing VBS with St. Luke’s and since every church is different, this is different for me. I will tell you I have 30 years of VBS in my back pocket so don’t be dismayed. This year’s theme is ROAD TRIP – On The Go With God. It is filled with great stories and a tremendous amount of fun! God’s people were sure on the move and God was with them the whole time. The theme for our week is from Joshua who along with Moses, lead God’s people on a 40 year jaunt through the desert to the promised land is The Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 Our week will be filled with worship, singing, puppets, maps, beads, Johnny Pops and so very much more!! The team of people giving their time and talent to VBS are tremendous, dedicated and so much fun! If you are looking for something to do this summer, give me a jingle and we’ll welcome you with open arms. If you are unable to help in person, we have a list of things we need in the Narthex. If you haven’t registered your child, please consider this great opportunity. If you forgot to register your child, the links are below. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
