Living together as God's people inside and outside our walls.
Though society might tell us that we can do life on our own, God's word tells us that we need one another. (1 Corinthians 12)
All are welcome, friends in Christ.

Community Life TeamShares their time and enjoys Fellowship (often with food) planning and serving the many events and ministries such as Welcome Desk, Greeters, Celebrations, Receptions, Festivals, and our Thanksgiving Eve Dessert Night. They provide probably the most popular event of all, enjoyed by young and old alike: Sunday Morning Coffee and Treats and the hostesses that make it happen. Most of you will agree, this team makes us very happy between worship by making coffee and setting out treats that are provided by others; plus cleaning up after us. Thank you to the over 25 others who supply the delicious treats. A very BIG thank you to all the volunteers for keeping this important ministry running smoothly.

Trunk or TreatIs a bridge event, a great way for the community to have a safe environment for children to trick or treat during the Halloween season. Both members of St. Luke's and members of the community decorate their cars/trunks and pass out candy to the trick or treaters. We have S’mores, popcorn and cider by the campfire. A great time for fellowship, this event has been St. Luke's main community event for the past 12 years. Last year’s attendance, the largest ever, was roughly 150 children, and it continues to grow!

Property TeamIs a close second to being the most important Evangelist for St. Luke’s - the first, members sharing their faith out in the community. This unheralded, active group of members’ mission is to keep the interior and exterior of our facility inviting, clean, and in good working order for our members and guests. The sheer size of our building, sitting on almost a full city block, and ranging in age from a couple of years to over 50 years old is a challenge, but this group is up to the task! Through the efforts of this committees members, this group saves thousands of dollars annually by doing service that would otherwise need to be contracted out.

St. Luke's Preschoolhas been an outreach ministry of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church serving families in our church and community for 46 years. Our preschool has an excellent reputation for providing a quality early childhood educational experience in a Christian setting. We are blessed to have talented, experienced certified teachers who provide a loving, learning atmosphere for the children each day at preschool. Each child grows at his/her own pace socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and intellectually. We have partnered for 10 years with the Bloomington Public Schools to provide a subsidized preschool education to two families whose children are English Language Learners and have financial need. Our preschool is an exciting mission outreach of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church for the love of children and their families. Click here for more information.

Softball TeamIs all about fellowship and community building. Our team has been playing against the same Church teams for years. We have built friendships with the guys we play with and against. I never thought of that when we started playing church league softball back in 1988. With the quality people on the team we win with class and lose with dignity. Marv Koch played St Luke’s softball for many years. He passed away over 10 years ago. He was 73 years old played till he died. Guys we play against still talk about him. Our favorite umpire and I do the Marv salute before every game. – Coach Tom Yost.
