Patrick Lair
Choir Director
Pat has been a member of St. Luke's and has sung with the St. Luke's Choir for 38 years. Amidst his active retirement life, he begins his 4th year leading the choir he holds near and dear to his heart.
Pat holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy and Music Education from Ohio University and a Masters of Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine's University. His professional career included stops in healthcare (clinical music therapist in mental health and addictions), organizational leadership consulting, financial advising, and higher education (retired from Dakota County Technical College after 21 years in 2018 as the Director of Student Success).
Music has always been a part of Pat’s life and, besides singing, he enjoys playing the guitar and piano. He has been in a couple of community theatre productions in the past as well as singing in community-based choirs (most recently The Apollo Men’s Choir)
Pat and his wife Mary have lived 2 blocks from the church since 1988 and raised their two daughters Katelin and Loreena in Bloomington and at St. Luke's. Being a father continues to bring joy to Pat’s life but being a grandpa (“Papa”) to 4 grandchildren might just top that. In addition to being a public speaker and performer, Pat works part time for the Minnesota Twins. Pat loves to read, hike, bike and spend time at the family cabin on Lake Superior.
